When Alvin Barnett founded his company, Barnett Construction in 1994, he was pursuing his dream to make a mark of excellence
on the custom home building industry. For more than 10 years, he has specialized in meeting the demand for quality
construction in Central Florida.
In 1987, Alvin began working for his father and grandfather whose company was Barnett & Sons. He acquired skill and knowledge
of the industry while working "hands-on" in every laborious aspect of the trade. "I've done everything from nailing trusses, to arranging the landscaping." Alvin said. "I was determined to become a custom home builder, and I knew the skills I learned would become valuable to me in the future." The drive and passion he developed working in the industry, has
translated to achieving great success in custom home building.
Alvin is proud to carry on the Barnett family tradition as the third generation of home builders in Central Florida. He
determined early on that he was committed to build custom homes that would reflect century old standards of excellence,
backed by a commitment to superior workmanship.
Barnett Construction builds high-end custom homes, including spec homes and presales, priced over $1,000,000, and located
in some of the most prestigious areas and communities of Central Florida.
Homes by Barnett Construction reflect stunning elevations, as well as exquisite interiors featuring hand-crafted details
in crown molding and mill work by highly skilled craftsmen. Other details of Barnett homes include spiral staircases with
iron railings, imported European cabinetry, wood flooring and marbles. "Every home we build is made up of the highest quality products imported from all over the world." Alvin said. "We hire the best craftsmen available to make sure we all pursue the highest standards and offer a superior product that we can all take great pride in."
Barnett Construction's home office is located in downtown Orlando, however, they are now in the process of relocating to
Lake Mary where many of their current projects are located. Alvin's hands-on approach includes being involved daily,
giving each client, and every home he builds, his personal attention. "I am personally involved in every aspect of every home I build," Alvin said. "I'm out there every day, hands-on in the field making sure every detail comes out perfect."
Alvin also takes great pride in the fact that his company is family owned and operated. His wife Christy works as the
office manager, and also takes care of the interior design aspects of their spec homes. In addition, she works closely
with each client to help them with their design choices, and make sure their home reflects their unique needs and desires
for the outcome of their home. Shortly after retiring, Alvin's father joined the company as the Project Manager, and
Christy's father joined the company as a Field Supervisor. "We enjoy having our business family owned and operated, and truly believe this has contributed to the success of our company." Alvin said.
Barnett Construction has built homes throughout central Florida, with plans for 3 homes which will be located in Windermere
on Lake Sheen, and another in Windermere on 6th Ave, which will provide views of Lake Bessy. They are also currently
working on 5 homes in Lake Markham Preserve, a gated community in Sanford. This community features high-end custom
homes on oversized lots, and is rich with trees and lush landscaping.

This 2 story home features 4 bedrooms, 5 &1/2 baths, and a three car garage. The home reflects a stunning elevation,
and the exterior is accented with cast stone and architectural detail in a Mediterranean style. Double mahogany doors
open into the spacious foyer with soaring ceilings that are open to the formal living room. Pocket doors off the living
areas disappear to invite the outdoors in, and offer stunning views of the lanai with oversized pool and spa, as well as
